Questions
Q.Does my video get uploaded?
No. The captions are rendered on your own machine. Only the audio track is uploaded, so the speech can be transcribed.
Q.Is it free?
Captioning a video is free. Free exports are watermarked, up to 720p, for videos of up to 10 minutes. AutoSubtitles Pro removes the watermark, allows up to 4K and longer videos, and adds SRT and VTT subtitle files.
Q.Which agents does it work with?
Any agent that can run a command on your machine, including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI. Agents that run only in the cloud cannot use it.
Q.What do I need installed?
Node.js 20 or later, and Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Nothing else.
Q.Can I design my own caption style?
The command uses the built-in styles. To design your own and see it on your video, use the AutoSubtitles web editor.
