Export Options

After editing your subtitles, AutoSubtitles gives you several export options.

Burned-in Video

This renders your subtitles directly into the video file. The exported video contains the subtitles as part of the image — no separate subtitle file needed.

When to use: When you're uploading to social media (Instagram Reels, TikTok, Twitter) and want the captions to look exactly the same for every viewer.

Note: Burned-in subtitles can't be turned off by the viewer. If you need optional subtitles, export as SRT or VTT instead.

SRT Export

SRT (SubRip) is the most widely supported subtitle file format. It's a plain text file with timestamps and text.

Compatible with: YouTube, Vimeo, VLC, most video editors, most video hosting platforms.

When to use: When you want to upload subtitles separately from your video, or when the platform supports sidecar subtitle files.

VTT Export

VTT (WebVTT) is a subtitle format designed for web use.

Compatible with: HTML5 video players, web browsers, some video hosting platforms.

When to use: When you're embedding video on a website and need browser-native subtitle support.

Export Quality

  • Free tier — Exports up to 720p with a small watermark
  • Premium — HD and 4K export at your video's original resolution, with no watermark

Downloading SRT, VTT, and TXT subtitle files is a Premium feature.

All exports are processed locally in your browser. Your video is not uploaded to any server during export.
